So I picked up a copy of a newly released version of H.P Lovecraft's collected and annotated works. While I'm not the biggest fan of Lovecraft's work, I can't turn down such a beautifully put together book with so much information on the author and his stories. Throw in an intro by Alan Moore and I was sold.

It got me thinking about how a great annotated edition of a work can add so much to the reading experience, especially for something you want to reread at some point.

So I was just wondering what annotated editions did others around here find particularly good, or works that don't have an annotated edition but you think should?
